And every time i saved over an old save it dissapeared aswell. I have been playing skyrim for a week with no problems, then today for some reason the saves started to dissapear, the auto and quicks were gone, and no new saves showed up. Hi there guys, i was having a similar problem just now. I hope that works but other than that I have no suggestions.
If you couldn't find your saved games using the Windows search then you should follow whatever guidance Steam Support provides for moving any of your backup saved game files for Skyrim from the Steam cloud to your Skyrim/Saves folder. If it does and you have the location of your saved games from doing the Windows file search you can try moving your saved files back into the new Documents\MyGames\Skyrim\Saves folder and see if the saved and load games features continues to work and allows you to load your old saved games. In either case you are probably going to have to do a a complete uninstall and re-installation of Skyrim and then test it to see if it is saving games in your Documents\MyGames\Skyrim\Saves folder under your User folder. I've never had the need to use the backup system to recall files but you should contact Steam Support to find out how you can do this. If no files show with that kind of name the only thing I can think of that could be happening is that the game is only saving to a backup saved file location on the Steam cloud. Right mouse click on one of them and select Properties to get the file location. If your games are saving somewhere on your computer hard drive(s) among the results should be files that begin with "Save - ". Do a file Search for your entire computer using the word "Save". The following solution is for the Vista platform but XP and 7 probably have similar protocols. If your Documents folder is completely empty there could be any number of reasons that happened but if your hard drive activity light goes on when you save a game that probably means it is writing your saves somewhere on your hard drive.
